YPR - MAJN
This train journey I would remember always (Though one more journey is there to remember ERS-KOTA via KR). It was a lifetime experience. Just to travel by this train and by Konkan railways I cooked up the story for my parents that Lalbagh exp to Chennai is cancelled (Lalbagh was standing in front of me at SBC) due to derailment of goods train and GT exp will start from Ernakulam the next day citing the same reason. I told my parents that I am going to Mangalore and next day I would leave for ernakulam to catch the supposed GT exp. One elderly person tapped my shoulder and told me Lalbagh is standing in front of you ready for

departure and you are telling on phone Lalbagh is cancelled and GT will start from ERS late by 24 hrs. ( Actually he too was to travel by GT the same day). It was a hard time convincing him that GT was neither diverted and nor Lalbagh is cancelled. I said that only for myself to travel through western ghats. Once done, I boarded Bangalore Tumkur spl for yeswantpur without ticket as there was really along queue at ticket counter. At YPR, YPR KAWR was standing at PF 5, I went took my reserved window seat and ready to enjoy the journey. The journey was pleasant till sakleshpur, but the real fun was after that. The train was 1 and half hrs late at sakleshpur. It started after WDG 4 were attached to it. The train passed through 300 bridges and innumerable tunnels with excited people shouting as the train entered tunnel. The place has an excellent scenic beauty and it is really a paradise for scenic beauty lover. The train reached Subramanya road at 1725 hrs. Almost whole train got empty here. At 1830 it reached MAJN and I left the train and went to the hotel.
TIP:= Please buy eatables at Bangalore or Arsikere as after Arsikere, you will get nothing to eat till subramanya road. At subramanya road Biryani, curd rice and banana are available.
