I booked 2A ticket and while booking I did mistake in passenger gender. I mentioned female instead of male passenger. What is a procedure to correct the gender on e-tickets?? My journey date is July 5 2014.
Gender cannot be changed. You will have to cancel your ticket and book a fresh one. Or else during your journey Try to make the on duty TTE understand yr problem by showing yr original Id card
This won't be a issue if your ticket isnot booked under ladies quota. Jst tell the TTR with ur idea. To change gender, i guess you have to got to PRS
yes, it is booked in general quota. Does customer care number help me in this regards?
I guess, it is not a big issue. My friend had once made mistake like this. Instead of female, she gave male. But there was no pblm.
I sent email to care@irctc and got below response.
Dear Customer,
Please note that wrong input by the customer for the name/age/sex at the time of booking is not permitted to be changed as per extant Railway rules.
