Travelled in 12841 on 7th June.. We got reservation in 3A.. I feel sorry for the pathetic condition of this train and fellow passengers who wish to travel in sleeper ! I thought of visiting the pantry car once and I had to cross the sleeper class coach.. I was totally speechless for what I saw !! Vestibules, passages of sleeper class blocked with waitlist passenger and their luggages.. People finding it lucky even to get a place to sit on the floor.. I had to hop and jump to move forward..Each and every berth were occupied by 5 passengers.. Even in upper berth ... People everywhere... Pantry car guys finding it hard to move holding heavy food items... According to me, there should be a Janata express fully unreserved train running daily to and from chennai to accomodate huge labour class people travelling to and fro between these two destination..

Infact one Jansadharan type train is needed from TVC-GHY and MAS-GHY.
South india lacks Jansadharan type trains towards rest of India.
Lats year to clear the rush during Durga puja, SR had introduced 22 coach general coach train between kochuveli and dibrugarh. not too sure how many would have opted for it.This summer though it was announced, for some reasons it was cancelled. as rightly said jansadharan express is definitely required between kerala and assam, Chennai-GHY sectors.
Sir special trains are seldom known to many people unless they have an internet connection or a regular newspaper reader . The people who comes to Southern states and who opt to travel in General class all the way till their destinations will be of mostly of workers who works for daily wages in construction sites. They mostly don't know English or the Dravidian languages , So mostly they wont be aware of specials.
I agree with you. In fact the funniest part was tht the notifications of the special trains was in English and Malayalam which is not understood by the majority of these workers.
