It is seen that tatkal tickets are not available to common man and the touts are able to provide it with a hefty extra charge. The IRCTC website becomes so slow at 10AM that by the time you finish payment all tickets are sold out and you are left with tatkal waiting ticket which will never get confirmed. I think Tatkal tickets may be sold by railways on lottery basis instead of first come first serve basis. All tatkal ticket seekers may be allowed to apply upto say 12PM and then railway computer may choose randomly the allottees depending upon availability. This will provide a fair and equitable plateform for all. The detailed modalities may further be worked out. In this way touts may be kept away and everybody will get equal opportunity.
