Question 1
In a break journey confirmed ticket if the train gets late and the connecting train leaves then what is the option. Can the passenger travel on same route by the following train in a general / sleeper coach without reservation or has to cancel the ticket and claim refund.

Can a passenger having ticket from Pune to Vijayawada

having boarding at Wadi board the same train from Pune and travel in sleeper (if berth available) / unreserved coach till Wadi as the ticket covers the charges from Pune.

1.In such case authorities shall try to accommodate you in next train depending on availability else can claim refund.You can travel in Gen without any issue.
2.No you need to buy separate ticket to travel from Pune-Wadi.

Thanks for the reply, regards Q2 i have a doubt. Few years ago I had a ticket from Pune to Mumbai with boarding at Lonavala however i had to travel to Pune the same day and took the same train and took the same reserved seat. The TT checked the ticket before Lonavala and did not charge anything. But here the distance is just about 70 kms but Pune - Wadi is more than 400 kms or the rules have changed now.

The Rules haven't changed and possible chances of TTE overlooked in earlier case you cannot travel as mentioned earlier in reply for Q2.
