Varanasi, Madurai, Bardhhman....these were the places where generations of steam workers were born......every child used to accompany his father to the loco and learned to serve it with PRIDE......
Sir.....u may be a person with world view.......but without/less heart for India..:)
To b frank, i grew up in Diesel land, saw the diesels til the age of 10-12 years.
Steams went down after my age of 4-5.
That's it.
I just saw photos of Indian steam in some books, etc but never in reality.

I am optiistic that one day everything will go away and STEAM LOCOs rule the tracks........I want to see VALVE GEAR MECHANISMS in action.....Atleast when NUCLEAR LOCOMOTIVES begin...we are sure to be back to seam some STEAM!!!!!
