As per this article Ernakulam Area Manager of Southern Railway P.L. Ashok Kumar said free track was available to operate an intercity express train or even ‘premium train’ that begins from Ernakulam at 6.30 a.m. and reaches Coimbatore at 10.30 a.m.
“Similarly, the Dhanbad-Alappuzha express can be extended up to Kochuveli in Thiruvananthapuram,” he said. This will benefit office-goers and others from Ernakulam.The return train will benefit commuters from Kochuveli who can reach Ernakulam before Jan Satabdhi arrives here at 9.15 a.m. the next day.

Extend cheyunnathokke kollam...morning TT shouldn't change....
Sir, what is the purpose of extending vanchinad to cape? When u have a train running almost empty frm TVC to CAPE 10 mins ahead of it?
Rather they should consider converting CAN - ALLP Executive Express into a daily service and extend it to TVC, by utilising the rake of Vanchinad. ERS - TVC Vanchinad can depart as Executive to CAN by 1200 or so; Rake of Executive can return to ERS as Vanchinad @ 1740. Maintenance of rakes will have to be shifted to CD/ERMC from CD/TVC. Anyway, they are building new pit lines @ ERMC and hence accommodating one more rake shouldn't be a problem.
already some of railfans are blaming that we are using their yard, since there are no more spaces avaialble at TVC. Now if this is extended again they will come up. So better not to extend since Jayanti Janatha is run just few min before it.
How about conveting allp-can executive to ernakulam manglore intercity?
