faced this issue recently ...had booked a ticket using new irctc ( next generation website) ...but when i was trying to cancel the same ticket , the older site kept on opening , and to my surprise that didnt show the ticket i booked in history and hence was unable to cancel.
.
then i tried nget.irctc.co.in and it straightaway took me to the new interface and was able to cancel the ticket ...but wonder why the old and new site are not in sync..secondly one should try nget.irctc.co.in instead of irctc.co.in..

This is issues with the way they are redirecting.
Actually the redirection works via DNS in which you can be taken to any of the sites randomly ..hosted on different servers.
As the migrations are still underway.these issues would occur but they should have deployed a system in which already migrated users would always be redirected to new one.

whether it is a issue with migration or with the way DNS work , doesnt matter , but the 2 sites not being in sync can be disastrous as people may end up in confusion and not so rail savvy people will find it difficult to use e-ticketing..
