I don't get it... why does it give 2 WL numbers when looking to book a seat? What does WL2/WL1 mean? THanks. Michelle
The first number is the Booking status (a)
The second one is the Current status (b)
(a-b) gives the no. of tickets that have been cancelled so that you can get a clear picture of whether your ticket gets confirmed or not!

For a certain combination of station against a train that u r looking for, it had its max available seats 90 days prior to the date of journey, on and from which the booking had started.
(In India, Booking starts from the 90th day prior to the date of journey)

To Continue, the first no. you had posted was the Max Booking Status and the follow up no was the Current Booking Status.
If you book a ticket with the abovementioned status, upon checking next for the same you wud find it as Wl 3/Wl 2.
WL2/WL1

1. The maximum WL for the given Date/Train/Stations has been 2 (Initial WL denotes the same as WL2)
2. Now, 1 person cancel the WL Ticket for the same Date/Train/Stations, which made the current Availability as WL1 (Later WL denotes current availability as WL1)

In simple words.. when you want to track status of your ticket, you need to see what has happened to "WL2" in the waiting list chart put up on station. (Of course you can track online). If you understand software, then the 1st WL is "primary key" field of WL.
