CLARIFICATION ON REPLACEMENT OF A SLEEPER COACH WITH AIRCONDITIONED COACH IN CERTAIN TRAINS
Reports have appeared in some sections of the media that Southern Railway plans to replace all second class sleeper coaches with AC coaches in a span of five years, attributing the source of such news to a statement made by the General Manager.

This I guess is the real business sense notification. SR knows there will be lot of political pressure. So as safety measure came with this.the trains which got ac for sleeper will be with ac from now. It won't be replaced with sleeper. As days pass by. All will forget. And Cc become permanent forever. After all this is sr.
Agree that Demand for AC Have arisen ..... Which is already looked in Which have given birth to New set of trains called AC Express so that more AC Coach passenger could be given accommodation without any inconvenience to Sleeper and Second class passengers.
But replacing Sleeper coaches with AC Coaches in existing trains is a very Unpopular and Unhealthy Step.

there is a lot of demand for AC 3tier travel. middle class people prefer to travel by AC3tier than sleeper coaches. SR is great.
