WAP-7D will b similar as WAP-7 only. There is no upgrade in it. Exceptional, another Workshop will come up, which assemble the WAP-7 parts, and will b mostly known as WAP-7D.
This would b mostly a next Amtrak Version or else newly coming HEP Train_Set version, which is powerful enough to haul at higher speeds, with much braking capacity.
after few years we can expect railfans to fight for WAP 9 like they do for WAP 7 now
No idea, what will b the next name of loco.
But i expect it to come out in Acela or else TGV Manner.
And these will b surely powerful than present locos.

even a wap7 can do that with minor changes in gear ratio and microprocessor flash file configuration.
