Some days back , I travelled from Pune to CSTM by Intercity and found that this train doesnot have buffet car. The vendors who come in train say that they are working for railways, however non of them had any railway badge. All of them were wearing a dress similar to catering staff. When confromted with a passenger, the catering staff who mentioned hat he works for railways, couldnot produce any railway badge. here it proved that local vendors disguise themselves as ctering (railway) staff and charge much more that authorised tariff. e.e. the cutlet was sold for Rs 57/- against official price whihc is less that Rs 45/-. How railways is encouraging local people to sell in train. railways can easily attach a buffet car in train which can take care of all passengers especially when the Intercity has 3 stops enroute to CSTM.
Deccan Queen journey is 3 and half hours whereas Pragati Express is also same time. When pantry car can be attached to Deccan Queen, why this train should be deprived of pantry car. Earlier Pragati Exp was having pantry car, and now discontinued. Why?? no answer to Rlys. Answer is that Rlys insist of such malpractices of vendors wearing clothes similar to catering staff but without badges. These vendors charge anything in name of railway catering staff. Why this malpractices is not stopped by Railways.?
Pragati Express and Deccan Queen Express both carry daily passengers to Mumbai and back. the departure time of Deccan Queen from Pune is 07.05am while that of Pragati is 07.50am and both take 3 hrs and 30 minutes to reach destinantion both ways. the timings of train si such that the dialy passenger do require some breakfast or some food in the morning ans well in the evening even though journey time is 3 and half hours. Hence there is need for a buffet car in both the trains even though journey time is 3 and half hours. Railways must immediately attach a buffet car in Pragati express to stop malprictices of disguised catering staff who charge exobitant prices in trains.
