It is great to know the yet to be introduced 22653/22654 Thiruvananthapuram-H Nizamuddin Exp (via Kottayam) and 22655/22656 Thiruvananthapuram-H Nizamuddin Exp (via Allapuzha) have been allocated halts at Karmali.
The Konkan Railway has always neglected this railway station. Karmali is the closest rail head to the capital city of Panaji. Panaji is the biggest city on the entire Konkan Railway stretch from Roha to Thokur and yet the rail connectivity is miserable. I hope, Karmali will see better days in the near future as hardly any trains halt here and the load on the 10111/12 Konkan Kanya and 10103/04 Mandovi Express is too much. I hope the railway authorities consider halting another daily express train at Karmali

Exactly, its a beautiful station located in a quite place in Old Goa. Also, the Bom Jesus Basilica where the mortal remains of great St. Francis Xavier kept enshrined is just 3km away from station.
Perfect! Karmali is part of Old Goa and the Se Cathedral is just a few minutes away from the station. Old Goa is one of the most sacred places on earth and people from all over, be it India and other parts of the world come here on pilgrimage. However, what has KR done for the benefit of pilgrims or for that matter, how many trains halt here - 10111/12 Konkan Kanya, 10103/04 Mandovi, 16345/46 Netravati, 16333/34 TVC-Veraval Exp, 12201/02 Garib Rath. In other words, just a handful and the bigger question is, is this no. enough - I really do not think so.

Karmali should be developed as terminus station and some of the trains should terminate hare and all the trains should stops here..2 more platforms should be made and facilities should be increased at this station.
