I have no idea about this. If this is true then it is interesting!!
Ya one of my friend from nasik told me some days back. When Godavari exp crosses Godavari river near nasik, LP's throw 1 coconut in either direction into river.
What if it fell onto the head of someone fishing or bathing :O
They may have some fixed spot also for it. Nobody can bath near railway bridge in nasik because in nasik there is very big place called panchavati is made for all dharmic programs, proples bath there. As far as fishing is concerned, it is not done in nasik because godavari is not that wide and deep there as its just the starting of a river.
