Anybody aware what ails POORVA, esp 12381 that is the one via GAYA!!! It seems this once a very important SF train has set up a new trend, that of breaking its own record OF BEING LATE... Late by 3 hrs, 4 hrs and now 5 hrs 55 minutes!!! Whither the standard of this "prestigious" train, that is a purely LHB rake and drawn by WAP-4/ WAP-7, is going nowadays? If this trend continues, it may replace 13119 in the near future... Taking more than 24 hrs to reach NDLS from HWH is really a torture to the passenger, that too with a pure LHB rake!!!! Everything is fine from HWH upto ALD, but then the problem starts with this train... Nobody knows why 12381 is made to halt for so long at ALD, while no other trains, including its PNBE counterpart 12303 is given such an ordeal... Of late,...
I have booked a ticket by 12381 from HWH to NDLS, and then on the same day from NDLS to MTJ by 11078 Jhelum Exp that starts from NDLS at 10:15 hrs to reach MTJ at about 12:50. But I am seriously worried going by current trend, if I may be able to catch 11078!! Is it getting too risky? Should I cancel the reservation by 11078??? Any advice... I thought 12381's arrival time (at NDLS) of 7:35 (hyped to be 6:00) plus 2 hrs late may still be sufficient for me to catch 11078, but now I am very confused and can't decided. Incidentally, I have booked ticket for journey in 1st week of November...

Why did you not consider changing at ALD itself? Depending on the day, if you find a better connection from ALD to MTJ, You save going all the way to NDLS!! Also, the risk of train getting late after ALD is mitigated. Looking at the arrival/dep history , the train is normally late by 2+ hours. But you will need to check the day on which you are traveling for connectivity to MTJ.
Catching up 11078 with the modified TT, looks little risky to me. I think you shd have some more buffer there ..
