There is no issue of Suburban Train tickets via Sandhurst Road station on the Harbour and Main Lines of Central Railway. When a person wants to travel from Panvel to Byculla/Chinchpokli via Sandhurst Road station, no ticket is issued, but it is issued only via Kurla/Dadar. The same is the case for issue of monthly/quarterly train passes.Now due to overcrowding at Kurla station, there is a general tendency to avoid Kurla station. Instead, commuters prefer travelling to Sandhurst Road and change over to Main line trains where it is the next station after Sandhurst Road and that too without any overcrowding. But, they have to purchase a 2 way train pass currently which adds to their cost. Issuing tickets/passes via Sandhurst Road would also encourage more people to travel via this route and avoid changing trains at Kurla altogether and also reduce overcrowding.
