Now we are getting somewhere in this discussion. I dont think diesel vs Electricity is even a debate now based on the global adoption of electric as the de facto standard for passenger train haulage, especially all the higher speed implementations worldwide. And punctuality is certainly not compromised by this decision. These are stray instances and completely merit attention to understand why these collosal mess-ups are happening but I dont think it means electrification itself is a cause for concern.
And regarding bio diesel, while I am a sceptic of its true potential at the moment, I am not closed to the idea of it becoming a viable alternative source of locomotive fuel but we are far from being there at this...
