Greetings!
We all face some of the peculiar difficulties while travelling in groups. There is a strong need for allowing the selection of desired seats by the pessangers themselves (as you find while booking movie tickets on certain websites).IRCTC please provide the required feature in the software.
At the same time allocating seats in different bogies is just UNACCEPTABLE, and if the similar situation arises the software should prompt the user (that if this is acceptable?)

Dear All,
By providing virtual seat selection, Passengers of group more than 6 also will get benefitted, since when they book for second lot (after 1st 6 passengers) they can choose the seats in the same compartment or nearby compartment based on seat availability.

any bookings for above 6 people are done in prs/booking office only and you can very well request to give adjacent seats/berths. in a very recent booking, 15 students went in two adjacent bays (8+8). similarly, they have been booked for their return also in the same pattern. so if you have more than 6 persons in a group, you have to go to the counters only. if you book thru irctc, it is bound to split. more than 6 persons are considered as group booking and cannot be done in irctc.

Is IRCTC getting this blog and can they do the suitable modifications in software/reservation system in stipulated period of time? ...something like before Common Wealth Games 2010
