Here are the finding of the Objection feature so far:
1. Opinion spam has NOT been observed. In response to the prior warning, Duplicate IDs, etc. are not involved in any of the Objection opinions. Most people seem to be giving their HONEST opinion, and I have NOT had to send any warnings to anyone. Objectors are requested to keep the faith, and not misuse this privilege.

2. The "same 6 people" are NOT marking Objection opinions, as widely suspected. Objections are coming from a wide cross-section of the public.

3. But yes, in a few cases, old rivalries are still active, and in those cases, bloggers need to work out their differences with their adversaries through other channels. We are not going to be interfering for now, if "My perfectly natural RailFan pic is being objected to." When this happens, your frustration is understandable and we are sorry for this as well. But the ball is in your court how to make the objections go away.

4. Objector-names will NOT be revealed as already promised. Anonymity allows many people to come forward who are otherwise meek, non-controversial and silent readers of the Forum. But once again, rest assured that if Spam is detected, the member will lose the privilege. Such has not been observed so far.

As already mentioned, the experiment will continue for a month. It may or may not be effective. Pl. understand that the end objective is a more fruitful Forum experience for everyone (if this works). Everyone will benefit if it works.
