PLEASE try to leave HWH as early as possible. At that point of time traffic will be at its peak. The shortest road from HWH to SDAH is MG Road which passes through the most congested part(Burra Bazar) of the city. The road is very narrow and traffic will be huge consisting of cars, buses, mini trucks, hand carts, trams. That place is the wholesale shopping hub of Kolkata.
Fastest option of travelling will be taxi, followed by bus. Trams not at all recommended. At that time HWH to SDAH will take at least one hour(though the distance being a mere 5-6kms), thanks to traffic. Before that you might have to stand in a long line for a pre-paid taxi. So...
