I usually get confirm ticket for intercity around a couple of weeks ago. Here, its full with two months to go.
Is there any function/festival on bbs/puri on 23rd of January?
Since I am looking to travel on same date, i was relaxed thinking that i would book it few days before journey date. But when I saw this today, I am pretty much shocked.

Those 2 trains are not generally preferred by travellers to Puri. Their first choice is any of the O/N trains failing which Dhauli is the last option.
