The time has come around when I have to book my train. Bookings open on thursday.
Definitely booking the Mandovi Express from CST to Madgaon. My wife and I are both senior citizens.
I'm still undecided after all this time whether to book 1AC or 2AC. I guess our priorities are storage of luggage safely, cleanliness of toilets and food being served. Seats by window a must too.

Vendors give first preference to First AC Passengers followed by 2nd AC and so on.
These trains are pretty safe especially when you are travelling in 2A or 1A. And yes, anyone can stroll around the First AC coach but no one is allowed to enter the cabins other than the booked passengers.
