"Frank R Lautenberg" Secaucus Junction Rail Station, New Jersey, #USA. Both Amtrak and NJ Transit trains stop here...
In one of the pics is an NJ Transit suburban train from which I alighted on my return trip from New Brunswick. Though I had a round trip ticket to New York, I alighted at Secaucus to save time by 1 hr. That put me into a little trouble.

Unlike here, the process seems to b .... assuming the ticket was til only NY, but can't b accepted or so at Secaucus.

She asked me how much fare did I pay? When I replied $13, she understood that the ticket was till Penn Station. She asked me if my ticket was to NY. I said I bought a round trip for $26 that morning at Penn station. Then the attendant swiped her access card and let me out explaining the process to me.
I would keep a poker face. Seriously, some methods are weird but maybe for good reasons.
