Passengers threw a ticket checker, belonging to Asansol division of Eastern Railway , out of a running train at Mathurapur railway station in Jharkhand on Thursday .

The ticket checker, N P Besra, was brought to Asansol on Friday in a critical condition. He is undergoing treatment at Asansol divisional railway hospital. Senior railway officers visited the hospital and spoke to him on Friday. A complaint has been lodged and Jharkhand GRP has started investigating the incident.
Around 4pm on Thursday , Besra caught five youths travelling without tickets on the Asansol-Jasidih passenger train. They threw him out of the running train when Besra tried to issue challans. Besra's colleague, A K Nag, pulled emergency chains to stop the train. Passengers and other ticket checkers then rescued Besra and took him to a nearby primary health centre in Mathurapur.
