Tridib Chakraborty 1223 blog postsCurrently, it is a complete chaos at HWH station. My cousin is at Howrah ER to catch 11 hours rescheduled 12303 Poorva Exp and most of the long distance ER trains are running/ arrived late by more than 10+ hours.

I understand we humans are sometimes helpless in front of nature, but I think Railways should introduce different fog timetables considering the scenario (like Konkan Railways monsoon tt). Atleast there won't be so much uncertainty anjd passenger discomfort.
Rather they should install some fog visibility devices in locos, then this problem of late running can be easily solved.
Yeah...... something needs to be done instead of this laid back approach by the railways. As India grows into a middle income economy in the next few decades, we cannot let issues like fog hold our most important lifeline at ransom for 3-4 months in a year.
yes ,yesterday i saw interview of RM MR S Prabhu. he was saying that railway will play an important role in Indian economy . Railway will contribute 2-3% of GDP in next 2-3 years.
