According to IRFCA, on 29th December 2002, 160 kmph trials were conducted on Mumbai-Madgaon stretch.

i remember it was to mark 150th years celebration of Indian Railways, Bandaru dattatreya was RM for state and Rajaram was MD, It was successful but never implemented . Any way once our KR was so accident proof and best governing body but now derailing of goods became so common.
