This follows a very very long route (so slow) train from Chennai to Guruvayur. Chennai-Madurai Koodal exp and Madurai-Guruvayur exp were combined to get this train. I think now these two can once again be separated as follows:
(1) Chennai - Kanyakumari Koodal exp (dep 07:00 reaching Kanyakumari 19:00)
(2) Madurai - Guruvayur exp as of old.

Many thanks to both of you. I had this question in my mind for a long time- why this train from Chennai to Guruvayur is run in a round about route.
