Sampark Kranti means it will just halt or touch or sampark the states it passes through and halts at all major stns for which state it is run. For e.g. 12908 Maharashtra Sampark Kranti Exp. halts at Kota(Rajasthan), Vadodara(Gujarat) and major stations of Maharashtra(i.e. Borivali and BDTS). Hope you got the idea.

It was started somewhere between 2002-03 by Nitish Kumar. It was meant to provide faster connection between an important city of a state with the National Capital. Earlier the trains were just like duranto i.e no commercial halt in between only technical halt. Later due to low patronage the technical halts were converted into commercial halts.
