Traveled in this EMU, "40707/Chennai Beach Tirumalpur Fast EMU" yesterday between Mambalam and St. Thomas Mount. I think it is a SLOW local upto Tambaram and fast after that. Confirmed with the Guard of this train.

Yea. Its not as such slow between Beach and Tambaram as it halts only at some important stations enroute. After Tambaram, its like an express, halting only at Chengalpattu.
