Hi every body.
Is there a software used by Indian Railways for upgrading / granting bearth to single lady passenger holding wait listed ticket.

#no site gives inside matrix for berth allocation system for Train/PRS.
#When not available one can not book LDWL.
#even a very experienced PRS staff can not advice to book a WL for possible conf at( the time of charting amusing any vacant LD quota berth will become available after cancellation in LD Quota berth Even no one knows the rate of success in such bookings.

In my first reply, i mentioned if LD Quota isnt available, the single lady or multiple lady booking will be treated as normal WL.
If its available, the programming will assure that the vacant/cancelled berth is alloted to WL Lady.
The query was about mechanism of programming, not Clerk's input or anything else!!
The same can well be confirmed from various blogging site,...

Allotment of coach/berth/seats will be done as per existing allocation logic available in the PRS. We do not guarantee allotment of seat/berth of your choice. Furthermore, it is not possible for us to advise you whether your choice of berth is being allotted or not. In case a lady passenger alone or with children under 12 years, is willing to reserve berth/berths in ladies quota wherever earmarked, she can give choice 'Ladies' in the field of quota. If berths are available in ladies quota the system will allot accommodation in ladies cabin ""otherwise accommodation will be allotted in General quota"",

There are certain things not defined in irctc!!
Yes, its correct, the booking will be under Normal WL, when LD Quota gets exhausted (tkx for correction)!!
But yes, earmarked quota are meant for some purpose & maybe after a while, i will come with some relevant detail, as now i can write, but cant mug & search much!!
