Powered by 16059 WDM- 3A of BWN (Burdwan) shed, the 13107 Dhaka (DAKA) (Bangladesh)- Kolkata Chitpur Terminal (KOAA) (India) MAITREE INTERNATIONAL Express (Bangladesh Railway) cruises past a busy Dum Dum Junction (DDJ) on ER's Sealdah North (Main) Division through platform number 5. The name Maitree Express means the Friendship Express, denoting the significance of the train service to the foreign relations between India and Bangladesh. The inauguration of the train service was held on the occasion of the Bengali New Year on April 14, 2008. The passenger train link between the two countries was revived after being closed for 43 years
13107/ 13108 MAITREE INTERNATIONAL Express (Bangladesh Railway) runs weekly in between the two countries, and uses INDONESIAN LHB rake. Coach composition comprises 1 A.C. First Class, 1 A.C. Chair Car, 2 Chair Car, either 1 or 2 Pantry (With built- in Dining Car) and 1 EOG. Would run bi- weekly with effect from July 5, 2015.
13109/ 13110 Kolkata Chitpur Terminal (KOAA) (India)- Dhaka (DAKA) (Bangladesh) MAITREE INTERNATIONAL Express (Indian Railway) runs weekly, but is temporarily running bi- weekly from January 4, 2015 upto 28 June, 2015. It uses Conventional ICF rake, and coach composition is 1 A.C. First Class, 1 A.C. Chair Cars, 3 Chair Cars, 1 Pantry Car and 2 SLR.
Both the trains get BWN WDM- 2/ 3A in the Indian territory, and then DLW manufactured WDM- 2/ 3A of BG (Bangladesh Railway) in the Bangladesh territory. The trains follow the Kolkata Chitpur- Dum Dum- Naihati- Ranaghat- Gede (Indian Border)- Darsana (DSN) (Bangladesh Border)- Ishwardi (ISD)- Dkaha (DAKA) route.
