Running time of trains to Shoranur cut by 15 minutes. The running time of trains between Shoranur and Ernakulam will reduce by 15 minutes when the intermediate block signalling (IBS) system near Chovvara railway station becomes operational this week.Currently, only when a train leaves Aluva station towards Thiruvananthapuram, the train that follows is given green signal to leave Angamaly. This is one of the longest sections in the Shoranur-Ernakulam stretch. Once the section is split by providing a remote controlled additional signal near Chovvara, the second train will be allowed to travel till there instead of halting for at least 10 minutes at Angamaly.
