Winter capital of Maharashtra, One of the Largest n Emerging city of Central India, Orange City, Tiger Capital,Cotton city, border locn with many states which makes NGP all time busy station with visitors. NGP is a station that plays a vital role in Railway.
but the quota n Trains for city like Nagpur:

No originating train.
Train with average quota: Gondwana Express
.
Mumbai: 3 originating trains
.
Howrah: No originating trains
Train with quota of Some Seats: Gitanjali n Adi HWH mail
.
Chennai: No originating trains
Only Tamil Nadu has apx 100 seats for NGP
.
Bangalore: No originating train
Only Sampark Kranti has 90+ seats n Only daily Sanghamitra has 11+ seats apx
.
Secunderabad: Originating trains: 1
Nagpur is one of the Highest revenue generating station to the zone. But still has crisis for trains n seats.
And people say NGP has enough trains as per neef for it.

Ngp dont have train for Mys Ghy Except one train, No for UBL, Ratnagiri,MAO etc. Not even a proper train for Solapur except 2 3 slip coaches. N CR if runs it runs 2S special between Solapur n Nagpur.

If CR/SECR is conflict, develop Itwari station and trains from Gondia can be extended there, just like what CR has done for Ajni.

But maintenance of trains from Itwari will be problem.Trains terminating at AJNI has maintenance with NGP CR n thats why AJNI became terminal without any problem for some trains but trains that will terminate at Itwari will need maintenance n for this major development will be reduired. Also its not getting changed due to GC .As soon GC will be done, Itwari will become a Major junction for Naghbir Chhindwara Nagpur Umred Gondia track points.

Yes Gondwana extension is something illogical thing for end to end..from ET a traon can directly go to Bsl in 4 5 hrs max n this train will take in 12hrs. It was better if extended only upto Akola or rerouted to Adilabad.
Gondwana is the only train with some better quota
