The proper well-defined procedure of posting News articles is through the News section. The original link title and content are preserved, and are easily searchable.

Yes, that's correct. It was allowed for some time as many members did not know about the News section.

If there is a consensus that "direct News postings" in the Forum are a nuisance, we can outright prohibit it, and have a clean separation, hereafter. If we all agree, then direct News postings here will be liable for deletion.
