With Rail Budget round the corner
Here is my wish list
1. No new project should be announced, Railways should announce only the projects which will be taken up as priority and will be completed in the next one year.
2. Importance should be given to connect all the pilgrimage places like Tirupathi, Shirdi
3. Rameswaram,
...
katra ,ajmer to name a few.
4. Increasing of speed, LHB coaches should be given to trains which runs on high speed corridors. Giving LHB to intercity trains like Lalbagh, Brindavan to name a few.
5. Increasing the frequency of the weekly trains rather than introducing weekly trains just for the sake of increasing the number of new trains in budget. Eg SBC- GHY trains can be made daily with little change in timings.
6. Encouraging more private players in Indian railways. For eg LHB coaches can be produced by PSUs and private players. Eg BEML.
7. Effective Use of IT and automation. Automated level crossing wherever possible.
8. Cleanliness : Top priority to cleanliness in trains and stations. Giving power to clean staffs to question people who are making the environment dirty, Even fine them.
9. Create a mechanism when in IR can take feedback and complains for everything.
For eg. Taking feedback of food in Raj and other trains, and if the feedback is good it should be given more contracts. If the feedback is poor,
\]the caters should be removed.
10. Optimum use of resource. Reducing the turnaround time for the trains.
Some trains just run for 6-7 hours in 24 hours and rest it spends in the pit lines.
For eg: Hwh- YPR duranto can run daily in just 3 rakes.

1. No point of just doing the survey.. There are many projects whose surveys are completed from decades but work not started. (I dont know any project of that kind, just my thought)
2. This places have least connectivity. There is so much demand for places like shirdi, rameswaram etc. Just for eg.
There is no direct train from sbc to Rameswaram, Shiridi (ppl are using KK for it) no proper ONT to Tirupathi.
10.
...
Issue are complex, but we need a will to solve such kind of issues.

1. though surveys done for many projects, still u can find more useful in surveying.
2. I agree that RMM shiradi have no connections but on the other hand business cities like CBE TUP PUNE yet to have proper metro connections. Do u know the demand in SBC CSTM SBC HYD. VSKP MAS for daily trains.
10. it not easily solved since u have primary secondary maintenance cleaning and Slack in station apart from that late running RSA patterns
