To All Rail Enthusiasts,
.
My request to all the members
.
Rail Budget announced today was definetely a bad one with respect to 120 days ARP and no mention of new lines, projects and
...

trains.
.
but on the other hand, If you try to look at the Budget.
.
There are atleast 200 projects pending with the Railways which are not getting completed due to funds despite the funds alloted to Railways by Finance is atleast 50% more than previous ones.
.
Previous years Budget announcements are still pending due to many issues with the rolling stock.
.
There is a need to complete the existing projects since this list of pending projects is increasing day by day.
.
Also, there is severe conjestion in some of the routes, there is a need to divert a few trains to new routes once they are completed which are again dependent on funds alloted.
.
Also, Coaches of many trains are as old as 25 years and need replacement. This again is not possible due to very less number of new coaches procured against the actual requirement.
.
And the most important thing, Mr RM Suresh Prabhu said that new trains, lines and projects would be announced later before the seesion ends, He never said that there wont be any new trains this year.
.
Also, There is no hike in fare despite the railways running into loss.
.
Despite the RM knowing the fact that many routes are conjested, he is reviewing the new trains that would get announced.
.
RM Suresh Prabhu also didnot make decisions in hurry by just announcing the new trains, lines and projects and instead reviewing them before announcing.
.
He also didnot think about the upcoming elections in Bihar.
.
I suppose we should take all the positives out of this and applaud the RM for providing such a good Budget and also wait for few days before he announces new trains, lines and projects.
.
Regards,
Nikunj Vora a.k.a. 22903 Bandra Bhuj AC Expess

I feel obliged that this blog helped one of the members, who was unhappy with not hearing new trains and projects , change his view and is now taking the budget positively.
.
He understood Mr RM Suresh Prabhu's views.

I would request you to have a look at an announcement made by Mr Prabhu today which is narrated in
/blog/post/1380756
Is it possible to implement this decision practically???(As mentioned in Entry #1380756).
This budget is strewn with many promises, many proposals many good good words, numerous projects. But in the whole budget speech "No target" has been mentioned for "Year wise Revenue
...

and Expenditure". From where funds will be taken for these huge list of Projects have not been mentioned specifically.
If you analyse the term "Budget" it literally means an estimate of Proposed Income and Expenditure for a certain period with respect to your Actual Income and Expenditure. Sorry to say I have never seen any reflection of the term "Budget" in the budget speech of Mr Prabhu today. What he has said today is a "Total View" which can't be termed as a "Budget". It may be a "Planning" but not "Budget" as because in "Planning" cost constraint is less important but in budget you have to set your targets for every year along with your cost constraint for materialize your plans on the basis of priority which is "ABSENT" in this budget.
This "Budget" lacks "Matured Outlook and Ideas" to a great extent and hardly any "Tinge Of Experience" is observed.
There is "A Huge Gap" in between the Lips and the Tea Cup/Coffee Cup, means to plan is quite easy but to implement is not so easy, to make promises, to show dreams is easy but to materialise that dream or promise is not so easy sir.
Thanks
Nilanjan Ray
