Grievance Description : With due respect, I, Amitava Mazumder, a bonafide passenger with ticket number 32193079 would like to draw your attention to the following event unfurled at Kharagpur Junction railway station at the dawn of 24.01.2014. The down Kharagpur-Howrah local scheduled to depart at 5.25a.m was placed on the platform number six (6) at 5.30a.m on 24.01.2014. noticed that guard was rushing to the guard compartment at 5.42 a.m. Still the train did not start. After that at 5.45 a.m yellow signal was withdrawn. At around 5.55 a.m one railway official (with turban on head and walkie talkie in hand) appeared and we came to know that the designated driver has not turned up. Still there was no public announcement on departure of train. The signal was finally given after 6 a.m and train started. It only pointed out towards the pathetic, chaotic condition of South Eastern Railway where one train is standing on the platform without guard and driver for over 30 minutes and station authority is a mute spectator only and perhaps ignorant of the event. This leads to serious inconvenience to bonafide passengers like us. I hope, there will be thorough investigation and actions will be initiated against guilty officials. In the absence of any concrete action at your end the matter will be taken up with higher grievance redressal authority.

Details : On 24.01.2014, Train No 38728 Kharagpur-Howrah local (schedule Dep-05.25Hrs) suffered 35 minutes late start Ex Kharagpur due to late turned up of Motorman at 05.55 Hrs. Concerned Motorman has been warned for his lapses.
