You cannot divert a train like this.You could better speed up the current train.The distance is longer by 200km in current route but avg speed can be increased,I believe.If you reroute,75 stations will lose their train.After BWN,common stop is only MGS if rerouted.Railways will not be ready for such a large scale change.

Agreed, but I doubt out of those 75 stations, whether people of even a single station considers this train for Delhi in the present day's situation :)
