It is on this day on 1st April 2003 SWR was formed along with other 6 zones.SWR completes 12 years and enters 13th year. Despite completing more than a decade of operation/service though some of the demands were met, still some of the decade old demands/wishes/aspirations have remained on paper like superfast train to Mumbai via UBL from SBC,an overnight train to coastal districts from Bengaluru, another overnight train to UBL/MRJ and daily Karnataka sampark kranthi exp via UBL. And some of the projects like TK-DVG new line are also waiting to be executed. Hope in the coming years some of which will be fulfilled.
