Sea bridge between Rameswaram and Srilanka
Why India is not planning a rail link between Rameswaram and Srilanka? Colombo is emerging the No.1 port for container ships in south Asia, I heard that international cargo being shipped form Colombo to Indian mainland currently. This could be done through freight trains between Lanka and TN. (Even refugees can travel during crisis )

Main problem ye hai beach me 5 kilometers aisa area hai jaha deepening 5 kilometers hai waha bridge banana mushkil hai
Its not viable. The movement of cargo is not too heavy plus its mostly one sided. Historically such bridges are viable and are invested between 2 economically strong regions or provinces. Here only India would invest and reap noting much. Environmental concerns also exists.
There could be engineering challenges. But was there any feasibility study done in the past?
1. There will be strong opposition from some parties, reason will be Ram Sethu.
2. Environmental Issue from environmentalist.
3. It will be big Engineering Challenge. The have to avoid rusting of rails, have to face toughest of weathers and most importanly, soil errossion which is very rapid in Dhanushkodi side..
