I HAD BOOKED ONE 2ND AC TICKET IN TRAIN 15030 for my mother, RUNNING BETWEEN PUNE TO GORAKHPUR, AT THE TIME OF BOOKING WL was 16, a day before scheduled departure of train my waiting list had redused to 2, train was scheduled to depart at 10:45 in the morning, same morning at around 730 am when i checked the status it was RAC6, i was kinda releived that now atleast my mother can travel, i kept checking after every 10 mins it remained RAC6, at 930 when charting got done, my ticket rolled back to WL 1.. i was kind of shocked. i had confirmed sleeper ticket for the same train which i canceeled after seeing the ticket status as RAC6 in 2nd AC, in the end i was left with no option. as it was e ticket, my mom was not even allowed to board the train, it was...

Status can change any moment TILL chart is prepared . Once chart is prepared no change in status
This seems to be a last minute change which can happen because of any reason like coach removal , or priority to VIP ticket.
In such cases, You can ask station manager to accommodate you in some other coach if there is empty seat in other coach and he will help you .
