Samastipur is the one of the most underrated stations in india....even after being a district having population more than four millions not a single express train originates from here...the trains which used to originate from here have always been extended to other stations like vaishali express,amrapali express,lichchavi express etc...Govt. Should atleast run a train to delhi originating from spj..with every passing year spj is losing its charm...once it was the largest station of bihar with 9 platforms...
Today it has a wagon maintaince factory,a diesel loco shed(which is too loosing its charm) a is a four line junction and two proposed line (muktapur-kusheshwar asthan and karpurigram-hajipur via mahua) hasnt been laid yet and willnt be laid ever..pata nhi indian railways ko kya...
