Railway is planning to develop Mangalore Junction in the future and slowly phase out the Mangalore Central station.
Regarding the Junction station, first priority should be given to develope the road connecting the staion with Highway.

Krishnan, will it not be a good idea to use Mangalore Central for all trains originating from / terminating at Mangalore and Mangalore Junction (formerly Kankanadi) for trains passing thro Mangalore.
Sir.........yes that is good for all passengers but IR is thinking just opposite. This news i read in an article last year that IR is planning to develope Kankanady in future, stating that Central has no space for further developement.
