I don't know if any one has noticed it...but there is a shortage of WAP 5 locos in ECR. I haven't seen one on this route. It is the best loco after WAP 7 and WAG 9. But Although ECR has many WAP 7 and WAP4 at their disposal, No WAP5..I would like to see one...great acceleration..probably the best.

^ Speed certificate from RDSO regarding the haulage of Mail/Express trains in DHQ-MJY and TEO-CCD ghat sections. Operational speeds of various locos (INCLUDING WAP5) have been specified.
Based on that speed certificate, we can conclude that WAP5 can haul 18-21 coaches at 60 km/h without bankers (in fair weather conditions).

WAP7 is allowed to ascend those ghat sections with 25 coaches without bankers (fair weather conditions).

With 23 coaches, whether the loco is WAP4 or WAP5, bankers will be necessary.
