Route via Kalyan is very busy and well served route.
Via Panvel, its easier to find slot as very few trains actually use the Panvel-Lonavla section.
There is a lot of traffic between Gujarat to Navi Mumbai as well as between Navi Mumbai and Pune, evidenced by the high number of Volvos on the route.

Yes U R Right, even train can return within 20 min. from Surat. You can remove some stops. & increase the speed. It is too late to reach Poona. Other wise it is welcome.
22:15 not that late, check pune sc shat, that also arrive even late than this train. And within 20 mins or 30 mins there was no free slot from ST. And after giving 11 halts this train quite aggressive. You will understand my point if u check how much time trains are taking between pune and st.
I understand your point sir, but via pnvl it will take more time to reach st as it has to cover a single line stretch.
