I am posting this again as previous post is archived. I had booked 4 tickets 1A on 14th April for our return journey for travel end of July from Kerala to Goa of which 2 seats are CNF and 2 seats are PQWL/3 and PQWL/4. We are in the month of June and nothing has changed from 14th April. The issue is we have to travel on this date, no two ways about it. What is disturbing me is that I can see only another 6 tickets remaining on 2A aswell. Should I go ahead and block 4 seats on 2A just to be on the safer side or as advised by a few members previously that 2 seats on 1A would come through by travel date (I guess this is not 100% confirmed). How many days prior to travel date would I know if the seats have come...

First of all there is no tatkal quota for 1A class. You can try in 2A if you find it's not confirmed even before 2 days of journey, there is no one who will give you 100% confirmation of getting a confirmed tatkal ticket, find an agent who could do the job for you.
