Facts about Chennai Metro
Total corridor length 45 kms including Washermenpet to Airport 23.1 km and Chennai Central to St.Thomas Mount 22 kms. Originally it was estimated project cost would be around Rs 14,600 crore, but now increased to around Rs 20,000 crore
Initially nine trains will be used for operations from Koyambedu to Alandur covering a distance fo 10 kms
