Just adding on to my previous post about codal life of locomotives, here is an order of condemnation for over-aged WAM4 locos dating to 2010. As the Director for Electrical Engg. points out in this letter multiple times, condemnation is done on a age-cum-condition basis and not just because the loco exceeded it's prescribed time. If the inspection engineer sees that the loco is in good working condition, then it's service life will be extended beyond the codal life.
