We still have 196 WAM-4 & 64 WAP-1 in our Loco Bank of IR. No Order has yet been issued for withdrawal of these Locos from mainline operation.

There is a certain group in IR like us who is in favor of withdrawal of these 260 Locos certainly there is another group against this decision....

No active order neither on part of RDSO nor on the part of RB has yet been issued for withdrawal of these Locos from mainline operation as these are currently performed as per standard of IR, so personal opinion won't be taken into consideration in this case I think and we have to wait for another 10 years minimum for withdrawal of these stock. On the other hand new WAP-4s are still being produced. Already 8 New WAP-4s has been produced in this year.

So you will expect that new WAP-4s will be inducted to fill this vacuum of WAM-4 & WAP-1 as because Lps do not require any training to handle WAP-4 so the chance of induction of WAP-4 is 99% here only 1% is the chance of 3 Phase allotment by replacing WAM-4 & WAP-1, I think.
