My friend has a confirmed 3AC ticket from Ltt to Njp. I want to travel with him only upto Nasik. Do the railways sell unreserved/current tickets for 3AC coaches? What's the alternative?

One more question, if two persons travelling together have wait list tickets, eg. WL 3 & 4, and the tickets become confirmed, will they necessarily get berths together?
